Taboga Island is a small island of about 900 friendly people in the Pacific just 12 miles from Panama City. This beautiful island boasts lovely beaches, hiking trails, assorted wildlife and gorgeous flowers. Thus, the name, the "Island of Flowers".
It is always warm in Isla Taboga. The average daily temperature is 88F. The water temperature averages 82F making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and fishing (see Taboga Fishing Charter tab).
Taboga Island is a preserve for thousands of pelicans who come to nest every year. You will also find ospreys, comorants, anteaters, cranes, iguanas, turtles and boobys. Off of the coast of Taboga you might catch a glimpse of migrating whales as well as dolphins who frequent the waters.
From Taboga Island you are only a short one hour ferry ride from Panama City with much shopping, historic sites and many great restaurants. There are daily flights into Tocumen International Airport with Continental and American Airlines, among others. From the airport you are a twenty five minute taxi ride to the heart of Panama City.
